Day 1 - A day (mostly) without kids
Wednesday 6/21/2006
We woke up at 6am with the sun shining into the trailer. We went outside for a walk with Tony, along the Merrimack river, which runs out into the Atlantic along one side of the campground. The weather was awesome. About 63F (17C) and a light breeze, blue sky and a lightly filled campground.

Some of the bushes are blooming just a bit up from the water. Although they have thorns, they look very nice.

After we got back, we had some fresh coffee at the trailer with some oven heated Danish pastry. Tasted great. I went into the trailer to get started with the diary and Lilli sat out in the sun to read a book.

It was an all-around great day; with only a few clouds in the sky, a light
breeze, and about 75F outside. It did not take long until the sun warmed up
enough that Lilli wanted to go inside.
She decided to take off on a local road
trip to Wal-Mart and to fuel up the truck. Meanwhile, I stayed back to sort
through a few papers that didn't get taken care of before we left. I managed to
get the GPS working, but I was not sure how; that was troublesome. The GPS
could find a lot more satellites when I worked it in the trailer (holding it up
against the sky-light). I wondered if there was some sort of interference in
the truck that was blocking the signal while they were driving. I noticed that
the cigarette lighter plug was a bit lose; perhaps it just shuts off? The truck
rumbled into the site and then stoped.. Lilli appeared at the door with a few
bags of groceries and lunch: two roast beef sandwiches and some salad. Seeing
the cloudless sky, they decided to eat outside the trailer. I then took the
opportunity to call and congratulate my dad, back in Sweden, on his 68th
birthday; both him and Sophy were doing well.
It took a while for the kids to get ready at home; they were doing last minute packing. Isabella also had to drive Erik to Wal-Mart for a hair cut (to buzz off his mohawk) and get a few rehargable batteries for the camera. They finally showed up at the campground a little before dusk. With them, they brought a few odd iteams I had forgotten at home. Settleing back into the trailer, I called Gus Spathis, the current PubSub CEO, to check on the most recent status of things. Turns out I called just 15 minutes before a scheduled employee con-call, where Gus was going to give everyone an update; it was basically game over at this point for PubSub. After deciding with the kids on what to eat, Lilli drove out to get some sea-food for everyone. I opted for some salad instead. As usual, they bought too much food and some of it went back into the fridge. After the sun dropped down, the family took a quick walk out to the beach to take a picture of the kids by the Atlantic Ocean.

When they returned, Lilli packed up the things they weren't taking with them on the trip back in Isabella's Lincoln Town Car. They said good bye to Lilli and Tony, and she drove off towards Merrimack. Me and the kids went back into the trailer and got ready for bed. It was already 10pm (22:00). Good night.
